Clay County began the bottom of the first with singles by Tyler Young, John Wilson, Todd McDaniel and Corey Nicholson. After a walk to Brandon Griffin, Matthew Watkins doubled and the score was quickly 4-0.

Clay added another run in the second and put the game away with six in the fifth to down a good Middlesboro team.

Todd McDaniel allowed an unearned run on two singles and a double in five innings of work to get the win. He struck out four and walked one.

John Wilson, Todd McDaniel, Corey Nicholson and Ethan Nolan each had two hits on the night. Wilson and Nicholson each drove in three runs. Tyler Young, Matthew Watkins (double) and Deron Maxey each added a hit.
