FNB downs Young's
in battle for first place

In a battle of the leagues top two teams, First National Bank starter Corey Nicholson walked the first Young and Son batter he faced, then two batters later surrendered a run scoring hit to C.J. Miller. However, that was about all Young's (9-2) would get off the big right hander. He allowed just one hit over the next four innings, a single by Tyler Young, and fanned seven.

Meanwhile, the FNB (9-2) bats were popping as Ben Jackson (2-2), Delbert Collins (1-2) and Kendell Sizemore (3-4) each hit homeruns to lead FNB to the win. Leadoff batter John Wilson went 4-4 and scored three times. Sizemore was 3-4; Trinity Bowling singled in three at bats.

FNB 4, Burns Trucking 0

John Wilson, Kendell Sizemore and Corey Nicholson each singled and scored in the win by First National Bank (8-2), Trinity Bowling, Dylan Barrett and Charles Hubbard also added singles.

Nicholson pitched one-hit baseball over six innings to earn the win. He struck out 11, walked five and hit two batters. Josh England singled in the third for the only hit for Burns (3-7).

Final Standings....

The regular season baseball and softball action at the Ramsey Ballpark will draw to a close due to the time consuming preparations for the upcoming District 4 all-star tournaments.

Because FNB's final regular season game was rained out it was determined that Young and Son's and FNB would share the pennant title.
