Nicholson, Wilson pitch FNB to 9-1 win

First National Bank pitchers, Cory Nicholson (first three innings) and John Wilson (two innings), limited National City Bank to only two hits in their 9-1 win Monday. The winners got a three-run inside the park homer from Delbert Collins in the first inning and never looked back. Wilson, the lead off hitter led the FNB offense with three hits; Nicholson and Ben Jackson each had two hits. Kendell Sizemore, Trinity Bowling and Dylan Barrett each had a hit. Tanner Gilbert (triple) and Matthew Watkins had the only hits for NCB.

Ethan Nolan (2-3) doubled in two runs in the second inning to break a 2-2 tie and later scored on a single by Jonathan Smallwood (2-2) to give NCB the win. NCB jumped on top 2-0 in the first when Nolan, Smallwood, Bill White (double) and Matt Clarkston each had hits. Shawn Smith singled and scored in the second.

John Wilson (2-3) and Kendell Sizemore (2-2) both singled and scored on a triple by Cory Nicholson in the bottom of the first but NCB starter Matthew Watkins settled down and didn't allow another run in three innings of work to get the win. Nolan pitched the fourth and earned the save.
