First National Bank shuts out Square 5-0

First National Bank shutout Manchester Square 5-0 Monday, behind the pitching of starter and winner Cory Nicholson (three innings) and reliever John Wilson. The two also had a couple of hits, as did teammates Bill Rickett and Dylan Barrett. Kendall Sizemore and Trinity Bowling each had a hit. John Colwell had two of Square's three hits. Deron Maxey had the other hit. Maxey took the loss, but struck out 10 in five innings of work.

National City Bank 4, First National Bank 4

The 90 minute time limit expired causing this 4-4 game to be postponed but it will be continued at a later date. National City jumped on top 4-0 but First National added two runs in the second and two more in the fourth to tie the game. NCB's Matthew Watkins started the game and worked three innings, allowing two runs and striking out five, Ethan Nolan worked two innings in relief, giving up two runs while fanning three.

Cory Nicholson, the FNB starter, surrendered four runs in three innings and struck out nine. Reliever John Wilson pitched the fourth and fifth innings, striking out three. Watkins and Bill Ed White led the NCB offense with three hits apiece. Jonathan Smallwood and Tanner Gilbert each had a hit and scored a run. Nolan drew two base on balls and scored twice. Kendall Sizemore, Cory Nicholson, Ben Jackson, Bill Rickett and Dylan Barrett had two hits apiece to lead FNB. John Wilson was 1-3 and scored a run.

The make up game ended after one inning as First National won by a score of 5-4. Kendall Sizemore picked up the win, pitching one shutout inning of relief.
